Highlight of last week… at every rehearsal Peter worked through some of the classic archetypes. It was quite a revelation following Peters commands in relation to breathing, posture, gaze, expression and thought and the resulting sense of character that develops internally.
We were then given the time to analyse our own characters within the play and apply the archetypes that we individually felt our characters expressed. Not only was this a fantastic learning experience for enhancing performance but I took away how I might apply some of the archetypes to day to day life; such as dealing with challenging encounters, job interviews or when wanting to achieve something… avoiding ‘victim’ signals and adopting, ‘huntress or hero characteristics, as an example.
I cannot wait to see what this weekend will bring!
Are you involved in Spinning the Moon? We would love to hear from you as we expand our blog series.
The inevitability of postponing Spinning the Moon because of Coronavirus didn’t make the actual announcement any easier....
